- 1 small Camembert cheese (+- 220 grams). Not ripe, so nice and firm!*
- Flour (preferably spelt flour)
- 1 egg
- Cooking oil
- Raw veggies, nuts and fruit to serve alongside.
- 1 frying pan
- 1 small plate
- 1 bowl (large enough to put the Camembert in)
- 1 fork
- 1 tablespoon
Break the egg into the bowl, add a pinch of salt and whisk the egg loose. Scoop 2 tablespoons of flour into the plate. Keep the oats handy.
Heat the pan with a dash of oil over a medium heat. As the pan heats, dab the Camembert in the egg. Make sure it’s covered all over. Use your fingers If you need to.
Now turn the Camembert in the flour. Again, make sure it’s fully covered.* Now add another coat of egg. Pour in 2 tablespoons of oats with the flour and turn the Camembert in the oats.
When the Camembert is fully breaded, add it to the pan. Fry each side over a medium heat for about 3 to 5 minutes per side. Then fry the edges as well, making sure there’s enough oil in the pan, so it won’t stick.
While you’re frying, you can make a salad. Use tomato, cucumber, fruit or nuts; anything you like. If possible, use a dressing with a touch of sweetness.**
